mat, along with a select few other people, is one of the main forces in my life that keeps me writing & trying. even without knowing him personally, he’d still inspire me the same way. albums like this one don’t come along very often, and almost never on such a personal level. the first time i heard it it made me realize all over again that people i know personally are capable of creating really lasting, amazing, masterful works of art. it made me think maybe i’ll be able to do that too someday.

so yeah mat leaked his album and it’s amazing & you need to hear it.

HT: No good words can describe the depth at which your heart will feel this, but I will try. Coma Cinema has eviscerated the boundary of a inside and outside, delivering his melancholic melody to an emotional site within which had you never heard his music before you would have never known to have existed. He has given us all something which is without value because at last this music is truly discoverable, new (to him and ourselves), infinite in its revealing of a broader and more felt human experience.

You might feel a little sting.

I always felt her music was closely related to Nikki Never’s Terror Bird, so it comes as no surprise to see the next LP also being released on Night School, label home to none other than TB.
